This is a smaller plant, growing in leaf litter on moist forest floor.

The top one is an epipactis, possibly e. helleborine. Not in the hellebore family, but a terrestrial orchid from Eurasia. Keep an eye on this - it has been known to become invasive. I was so excited when it first turned up in my yard ... then I learned about it and saw how prolifically is spreads, even in the most inhospitable conditions (like our gravel driveway).
