gardening conventions

Chad BJune 14, 2006

I'm doing a research study for Ohlone College and I was wondering where and how to find out about gardening conventions to help promote the new product they developed. It is an organic fungicide. Also, I was wondering what gardening magazines most of you read? Thanks.

Go on line and search the professional organizations in your state. There will be landscape, nursery, arboriculture, turfgrass, greenhouse, etc. associations GALORE! Google should be your search engine. Also, your local entension service will have a listing of professional associations and organizations.

Lots of organic fungicides. Curious about what's different about this new one?

Hope they have sufficient, and sufficiently well-documented, studies to show actual effectiveness. Be very careful about making claims for effectiveness, and even more careful about claiming to be 'organic' -- there are some pretty strict laws in effect nowadays.

It's very difficult to get a rating as an acceptable organic product, but if the product is found acceptable by USDA's Organic Certification board, and by CCOF, that would be the first step. One cannot just say something is "organic", one has to be able to substantiate the claim.

To "promote" a product sounds as though it will be sold. Is this a normal undertaking for a college?

Here is a link that might be useful: CCOF
