Unknown Plant

jfragaJune 20, 2008

Hey Everyone,

There's plant that looks a lot like california poppy but has a white-violetish flower. The flower has a very similar complexion to the california poppy. Does anybody know?

Thanks for your time.

need an image. prob. lots of possibilities but without an image it would be only a wild guess.

I'm going to guess that it might be a calochortus, which comes from a bulb. Another possibility is some sort of Oenethera. Images would help, but so would descriptions of the leaves and stems. If the flower has distinctive spots inside, I'd lean even more toward the Calochortus.
