Garden Phlox

FrankLinJinSinJune 24, 2013

I have a group of garden phlox flowering for the first time this year and although most are uniform light pink or white, one of them has shades of color from white to deep pink (per the image) all on the same stem. Is this normal? I can't find anywhere else this has occurred.

That is not garden phlox, that is Sweet William, Dianthus.

Heh, that's what I was going to say. BTW, nobody asked, but a most interesting cultivar of Dianthus-actually two cultivars- is/are the variety known as "Amazon Neon Duo". Once you've grown that combo, you'll never look at taller-growing Dianthus the same.

But anyway...............+oM
