Strange purple/yellow flower, can you id for me?

My son picked this for me. I've never seen anything like this before. Here are a few pictures to help:

Now, the flash tended to wash out the outer petals but the petals alternate between lavender and green. It is probably about 2 inches across and so very pretty.

I live in Georgia (USA). It has had some sort of shower almost every day for a couple of weeks, but the heat is in the 90's the last few days.

Can anyone help me find out what this is?

It is the native passion flower vine, Passiflora incarnata. Quite exotic looking, isn't it?
