Bulbs and other plantings

mrs_skiApril 15, 2005

I know its a little late for this season, but i was wondering. is it possible to plant some bulbs to blossom in the spring so that my garden looks a little less depressing, and yet still be able to plant non-bulb plants (excuse my terminology ignorance) and have them all "live" together in the same area?

if so whats the best way to do this?

Yes definitely. I just tuck them around the other plants. Plants like hostas that emerge late, I tuck early bulbs under where the leaves would be. And I try to take advantage of temporarily sunny areas while the trees are still leafless.
