Small White Wildflower

jekeesl (south-central Arkansas)(7b)July 3, 2010

This plant looks like an Aster, but with different leaves than we typically see. It is approximately 12 inches tall. Can you name it?

It is an aster but it is difficult to identify them without the plant in hand or detailed photographs of the leaves and flowering heads.

Heath Aster looks very much like it but typically has fewer ray petals. Might be Aster pilosus but there are other possibilities.
