Rhexias anyone?

Anyone out there growing any species of Rhexia? One of my fav. natives. I currently grow R.Mariana, R. Ventricosa, R. Virginiana (3 forms), R. Aristosa and R. X Brevibraceatea. For such an attractive native wildflower this genus doesn't seem to be too popular among gardeners.

I wouldn't mind having Rhexia virginiana, if I could find seeds. I didn't know what this plant was until I Googled it, and it seems to be a very pretty wildflower. Looks like even the foliage turns a nice color in the fall. This year I'm going to winter sow some native wildflowers to attract butterflies and hummingbirds. Until I started my search, I never knew how many beautiful plants there were in North America. I'm all excited!

I have R. virginia growing down by the lake. It just popped up there about four years ago and now appears to be spreading very slowly. The blooms this year were not as plentiful, due to our lack of rain at the end of the season. I collected seeds last year, but this year some type of weevil has punched a hole into the capsule, and there is nothing there. It is a lovely plant. I have seen R. mariana for sale at some of the recent native plant conferences I have attended, so there are nurseries that carry it and apparently some gardening interest out there.
