...but which one?
I was going to ask if it's a hummer plant, but while I was getting ready to take the pic, a little female answered that question.
I would've though Lobelia siphilitica - mine is blooming now.
It's certainly a beautiful form with the dark stems! Worth saving seed, too.
I haven't seen as handsome a Lobelia as that one.

I asked an expert at the University of Tennessee ( they have a fantastic herbarium for searching species)
It's Lobelia puberula.
