A visit to palmy Trenton

steve_nj(7-a)September 1, 2012

Today I visited several palmy sites in Hamilton & downtown Trenton. All were planted 7 or 8 years ago. This is behind the Hamilton Library. Trachys are in poor, gravelly soil and have been slow.

These are Sabal minor 'McCurtain' at the Human Services Bldg. There are trachys here also, but they're in dryish shade in poor soil and have been very slow.

There are basjoo banana , crape myrtle, palms, Choisya ternata 'Sundance', & Spiraea at the Mercer County Courthouse.

The courthouse looks like it ought to be in Birmingham Alabama!

Did you plant all of these, Steve? For all of the slow growth at least all the beds drain.

Everything drains quite well. Palms laugh at droughts.
