Plant growing in wooded septic field

dekeoboe(7B NC)September 23, 2013

Several of these plants have come in over our septic field in the woods. Any idea what it is? I am trying to decide whether to leave them or pull them up. We are in central NC.

Camphorweed, Pluchea camphorata, likes moist areas. Pluck off a leaf and you'll how it got the name.
