Where to Buy.....

rainydaywoman_z8(8)January 29, 2011

If anyone lives in the Eugene area & could recommend a good local place to buy strawberry, raspberry, and potato starts, I would really appreciate it. What I like about catalogues is that you have a lot of varieties to choose from, and I want early, late, and everbearing berries. I haven't seen any variety at the nursery I go to. But I really want to buy locally if I can.

To purchase locally, you need to know when, or if, the garden center will be selling what you want.

So phone the larger garden centers, farm stores also, and ask
1. Do you sell strawberries?
If so, then also ask
2. When are they available?

I'd suggest Down To Earth for starters. Unfortunately, I don't live there any more, so I don't know what else is still around. I haven't been to DTE for a long time, but I assume they're still the same.

Have you tried the Territorial Seed Co. retail nursery?
