Hummingbirds yet?

aunt_lou(Z5 OH)April 11, 2011

Got some pretty new hummer feeders and just put out my first batch of nectar hoping to spot my first my first hummers of 2011. Was wondering if anyone else up here in OH has seen any yet.

Have then here in Troy (SW OH) as of 4/30. I'm all for putting up the feeders before you see the first one.

Put my feeder out last week. Had hummingbirds the same day. By today, it seems to be a parade at times. The feeder hangs in a dogwood tree. I tied a red ribbon to the feeder too as I did last year. Use 2c. sugar to 1c. water. What do others make?
I sometimes have one female sitting in the tree and watch as a male comes and they must be doing a mating ritual. At other times, I have one hummingbird on the feeder and another will come by waiting.
