Joe Pye weed

Linda (by the airport)
I'm sad. I won't be able to make it. If you have any plants left over, let me know, and I will take some.
June 4th works great for me! Yay I'll start potting things :D And 10 am is fine with me.
Great - I will be there! and 10am works fine for me.
I'll post a more specific list of what I'm bringing soon, but feel free to peek at my plants have list here on GW. It's fairly accurate to what I have.
Yes, Alan is coming too! :) With food!
Here are some things I know I'll bring, I'll try to update my GW list
Yellow Dahlia -- the flowers are only about 3 inches across
Some weird spreading plant that I have around my garden pond
1 prickly pear pad (it's been rooted for about a year)
Count me in and 10 is fine.
Just a thought...since most of us are 'seasoned' gardeners (so far anyway), and maybe not looking for or needing much (like me, Marcia, and flowerchildky/Linda) folks might want to check to see for sure there will be good homes for things that are brought...just a thought....but of course Dreamspirit will give some plants good homes.
Maybe we should start a post on the 'Exchange side of the forum with subject line of something like June 4,2011 Louisville swap prearranged swaps/shares". Think?
I hope to have various irises to bring...both named and NO ID ones, and not sure what all...I will be listing stuff later though to see if there is any interest before digging and potting stuff.
Linda, I would love some camomile, mint-spearmint and lemon
bee balm-violet queen, columbine and Joe Pye weed if you have any left over.
I can pick up from Marcia or from you.
e-mail me after to let me know: email@example.com
Sue - I think that sounds great to put a prearrange thread up.
Also, let's do what we can to bring some newbies in. I may just go through the KY members list and send out a recruiting email. (There are about 40 in KY....though I haven't checked the members for OH or IN. If someone might want to do those....I know it's a little random but might work!)
Only one more week. I hope we can drum up some more interest.
Linda....I can't remember what color it was....I haven't noticed anything new....except a million baby maple trees...UGH> Hope to get them pulled by the swap.
Marla Jo...anything you want I will save for you.
This weather has been so crazy it is hard to get things done outside....but we will have fun anyway.
If you remember my daughter, Molly, from past swaps. She is pregnant and due in about 7 weeks. Little boy...or should I say big boy. If you look at her from the back, you would not know she was pregnant, but when she turns around....WOW !!!! Maybe I can talk her into coming over and hanging out with us.
Marcia, congrats on the baby boy! they are SO much fun! Hope she can come by and visit with us...
the columbine is red
Marla Jo- I will take up the plants you want
Tina ....hope you can get some more folks 'on board'-would love to see a big crowd
hope to take up lots of plants this weekend- yes, the rain has sure gotten in the way for gardening..
see you soon,
Linda...I don't think it did...so if you have a plant or two I will find a spot.
I'm in for sure. I have some daisies, coneflowers, rudbeckia, and monarda dug and in pots, as well as some yellow and deep purple/blue iris. If nobody wants them, I'll replant somewhere else in my yard, or donate to a friend's church's garden. I also have a lot of peat pots if anyone wants them.
Now....I have some holly bushes in front of my house that I'm thinking of getting rid of. Does anyone want some? I have 2 that are about 2ft high and 2 ft wide, and 3 more that are a little larger. Please let me know if you want holly and I'll dig whatever you want.
I am looking for some shade plants, especially those that don't grow very wide. I finally got rid of the creeping crud vines between my house and driveway (under the carport) and want to put some shade plants in there.
A few of my other "wants:"
Phlox (tall and/or creeping)
Also, Linda, I will give your amsonia a home if nobody else wants it. There is one growing at a mailbox near where I live and I've always admired it :)
Looking forward to seeing you guys! I'm trying to find a friend or two to come with me, but so far no definite takers.
I am looking forward coming to plant swap. Also Sue Swift will be coming too

Nance, I would love some of the ferns too, and your rudbeckia cherry red.
Kate151, I would love some of your yellow dahlia.
Linda, would love some of your chamomile, red shamrock, and lime green sedum (angelina?) if possible.
Post some requests from my have list and I'll see if they are dividable yet....I'll get things listed that I have potted already and will likely pot tomorrow as well.
**I sent out invites to a bunch of folks listed as "in KY" in their member pages. Not sure if those are accurate or not, but worth a shot.

this is going to be fun!
I have everyone's want list--
having a little trouble with wilting on some of the ones I have already taken up, but I am watering and hope they will be ok- I tried to get a 'chunk' of soil with each-
my son Doug will dig some more for me today-
Tina, I would like some choc mint-
will check back here later today..
see you tomorrow
Linda, did you see my desire posted above for some red veined dock and some red shamrock? Just curious.
I haven't dug anything yet, but plan to dig some things that might be of interest
Double Red Peony starts.
TB Iris I believe to be Alice Goodman. Shall I put anyone's name on a fan or more of it?
Also daylily I think it Magic Quest...anyone?
No ID Pretty pink...anyone?
Might get to an unknown red...has needed dug for years! Anyone? If so, do you want like a huge clump of it that you can separate out?
Named daffodils in smaller quantities?
NO ID daffs in larger quantities...have numerous ones. Anyone?
Nance, I'm digging what I 'think/hope is tall pink garden phlox...but it might be purple...just not sure. You can take a chance on it if you want and shovel prune if you later find out it is purple and not wanted...or else it can go to another home.
Sue....so behind as usual
I also have a variegated leaf hardy violet...anyone need one/some? post here... It reseeds and the offspring are also variegated. I can probably find the name later (like next week).
Hi Sue! Glad you could make it - I was wondering where you were :)
I would love some of your:
Maybe Alice Goodman Iris
Magic Quest DL
Varigated Violet (coolio)
and a start of the double red peony.
IF you can get to them. I know we're in the home stretch, so no worries if not.
I just divided my New England Aster with an axe, and have one or two great rooted chunks available, and a few small parts that are slightly rooted but will need a little more tlc than a fully rooted plant. Let me know if you want any...
Hollar if you want to make sure I bring these -- things that are potted up, but I may leave alot of it at home if no one wants them. (Have to post by 6:30am tomorrow morning to ensure.)
Yelllow LA iris
Sm Burgundy Daylily
Northern Sea Oats
hollyhock, mixed burg & pink
Clematis, Sweet Autumn
new england aster
I also have a few little starts of Dwarf Munstead Lavendar....
Nance -- I have you for one of the hollyhocks (small starts).
Linda -- I have you for chocolate mint.
Kate -- aiming to dig some campanula cherry bells if you'd like those. You have "snowdrops" on your want list. Do you mean snowdrop anenome?
Jen -- I have you for white yarrow and red monarda...and will dig catnip? if you'd like it.
Ok, off to axe-divide the Cup Plant now....
Tina, I'd love any cup plant you have as it would go in a wooly area that I'm hoping to some day have in all native plants and have heard cup plant will reseed nicely, though mine in a cultivated area hasn't done that. I've heard it is hard to dig/move because of it having a very long taproot.
I'm hoping to bring a strawberry desert.
Who is making the brownies?
Dwarf Munstead Lavendar..
All such nice plants!!!
Nancy from Valley Station
Cup plant divided. Sue -- I planted mine in a very gravelly hard area that prevented deep rooting. Instead it built itself a woody knot and all the side roots. It's done great in that spot actually in the junkiest driest soil I have anywhere. (Has not spread sideways muchand I harvest the seeds so no volunteers thus far.)
Sue - have cup plant for you.
Others -- also have a few of the low creeping sedums potted up:
and one that looks kinda like the "two row" stonecrop.
Nance -- got those for you:
Dwarf Munstead Lavendar
Adding to my list;
I have 2 Red Hyacinth Bean vine.
Nancy from Valley Station
I said I wasn't going home with plants this year, but happen to have a perfect place ready for a red hyacinth bean vine...please

I also have a concrete bird bath up for grabs.....
(hopping up and down)

And please Marcia, do you already have snowdrop anenomes? I'm always trying to find some cool thing for your shade.
Ha, mighta found it! I have a baby Bears Breaches (Acanthus mollis) which will take full shade, Marcia. Might you like that?
(It gets pretty tall, and can be a little invasive....but is beautiful.)
Here is a link that might be useful: Bear's Breaches Photos
Ok, Iris Goodman is dug for Tina and Nance with probably some left over.
Daylily Magic Quest is dug for Nance (Nancy and Kilngod/Tina
there are 2 BIG hunks and one HUGE hunk for anyone else who might want some. With care these will bloom this year as they are budded.
I dug 3 nice starts of Yucca Bright Edge. Anyone want one?
Off to dig NO ID Red Daylily (Nance)and the red peonies (Tina).
Anyone else anything I have listed so far?
Can/will also dig NO ID #5 Tall bearded iris
bearded iris Honey Glazed. It is shorter one.
NO ID #13...white TB with a yellow beard
NO ID #19 which is a peachy pink that is a reliable rebloomer.
NO ID #6
I'll only dig if I have requests.
Anyone else need those?
If any NOID #19 (peachy pink rebloomer) or NOID #6 (yellow white frilly), I'd snag 'em in a heartbeat.
if they get dug. no worries if not.
(I have some of that Honey Glazed from you I think. It's dreamy.)
And I missed....
Yes! A start of that yucca bright edge. shoot, that's nice.
Ok...have the peachy pink-lots so can share any extras
have the yellow and white-lots so can share extras
will put your name on a bright edge.
I'm emailing Kate, Marla Jo, and Jen to holler for things tht might be of interest. I can probably dig a few more things in the AM too.
Sue- if you see this in time, I would love a Honey Glazed iris...if not, no prob
I did not see your request for the dock and shamrock-will save the dock for you- will devide the shamrock for the 3 of you that requested
I am bringing some birdhouse gourds-dried and ready for crafting
also have some daylily and coneflowers 'up for grab'
I hope I can get it all in my car! LOL
AND I am bringing the brownies!! :))
Whoo-Hoo...Marcia said she was making brownies...only 1 needs to, but if you both have them made, (and bring them) I'm sure they will get gone.
I'll try to get the honey glazed for you...am surprised at you requesting it since you too are paring things down like I am.
I may be a bit late, so I hope I don't miss nance/Nancy, with her goodies as she has been in a rush in years past. Hope I still have my directions and phone number for Marcia.
