Can you guess?

BetsyBr(NJ)November 12, 2006

A fella is asking for an ID of this flower. he lives in Ky and I thought you might know. Since I have nowhere to convert the pic he posted I will do my best to describe it.

Appears to be a red cluster with reddish-yellow balls hanging from it. I asked if it was a round ball that had split open and possibley the reddish-yellow balls were the seeds. The red ball looks like there are mini red spikes sticking all around it.

This is harder than I imagined.

Any suggestions where to lok for a match? TIA

Betsy
