Gesneriad Plant Show

Patrick888(z8 SeaTac WA)March 15, 2014

The Puget Sound Gesneriad Society and the Seattle African Violet Society announce our annual combined show and sale.

When: Saturday, March 22, 2014

Where: Swanson's Nursery
9701 15th Ave NW
Seattle, WA 98117

Show Hours: Noon to 4 p.m.
Sales Hours: 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

African Violets (Saintpaulia) are members of the large plant family, Gesneriads. A couple close relatives you might recognize are Sinningia speciosa (Florists' Gloxinia) and Streptocarpus (Cape Primrose). In spite of some pretty exotic looks, many Gesneriads readily grow under the same cultural conditions as African Violets.

This event offers the rare opportunity to buy plants from our members' private collections at very reasonable prices. There will be many plants in our judged show (likewise on the sales tables) you won't find in nurseries. Jump on this one! See you there.
