Mahoney's Deal: Tri color Beech $150 !!!

arbo_retum(z5 ,WinchstrMA)May 19, 2011

Good sized and nicely shaped. WHAT a bargain! WE put in one of these a few yrs ago, carefully sited because

--beeches get BIIIG but this variety not so big and v slow growing

--beeches shade out alot of what is under them

-- ours leafs out pretty late

after seeing these excellent speciimens at M's, we are racking our brains to see if we have another good spot..... :-)

Mindy,
I'll buy it if you'll site it. (meaning, if you can find a place where I need more shade, I'll gladly part with 150.)

Mindy,
This tree doesn't get huge-huge....if I read correctly more like 30 feet. It is slow growing. It looks like a lovely, lovely tree.

awesome in spring; gets brown and dreary later in season.

I tried to transplant mine last spring, but I lost it. Recall that spring turned to summer fast and furious on April 7th last year. I don't miss it.
