Question about Loblolly-Bay and Florida Anise

Does anyone have experience growing Gordonia lasianthus (Loblolly-Bay) and Illicium floridanum (Florida Anise) in the PNW? Thanks.

The first was grown in a sheltered nook near Lake Washington for a time, do not know how it looks now. The second is probably part of several kinds that were grown for years under taller trees at the Seattle arboretum.
