Newbury Perennial Gardens gone

ginny12June 22, 2012

I was shocked and disappointed to learn last month that Newbury Perennial Gardens was closing. For many of us north of Boston, that was one of the few really special nurseries offering a wide selection of perennials and other plants for many years.

I don't know what happened. Maybe the owners just decided to retire or the bad economy played a part. Or the big-box stores. But Newbury will be much missed. I have a lot of plants I treasure that I bought there over the years.

That is too bad! I hate to see these types of losses.
