Need ID on Heronswood plant

nightnurse1968July 7, 2013

I spent a glorious afternoon touring Heronswood yesterday. I snapped a shot of this pinkish salmon blooming plant. Can anybody help me with an ID?? Thanks!

Phygelius- Cape Fuchsia

Just a bit of warning- it's roots can be rambunctious

Yes! Thanks I do believe that's it. I will have to see if I can find the variety. It was such a nice light salmon pink. Thanks for the rambunctious warning too. My space is limited. Maybe in a pot? Such a pretty plant.

My first guess on the variety would be 'Salmon Leap', but that is only a guess. There are quite a few varieties of this out now. The roots will remain under better control on poor, compacted soil that is not heavily amended.
