Help with plant ID

rockman50(6b SEMASS)September 13, 2010

The plant in question looks like an ornamental grass. It occurs as small clumps. The blades are wide (1/4 to 1/2 inch) and variegated. And right now, there are multiple blue/purple flower spikes emerging from the clumps. The spikes are maybe 6 inches long. The "flowers" on the spikes are very small and have a rubbery or waxy feel. Any ideas?

Maybe a variegated liriope, also know as lilyturf or monkey grass. The Silver Dragon has pale lavender flowers, but there may be others with darker blooms.
