Which costs more? Organic or synthetic fertilizer for lawns?

I know what the answer is for long term use.

What about short term?

If you use free coffee grounds for fertilizer, then there is no comparison at all. If you buy corn meal (or the least expensive ground grain in your area), I'm convinced you can find a program to match any chemical program. If you use fish hydrolysate for a fertilizer, there is probably no chemical program that can cost that much.
