How long after corn gluten meal can I start seeds

joycewwctApril 1, 2012

My forsythia is blooming very early this year. The weather is not so summery as it was a week ago now but I don't expect it will get too much colder. So I am considering putting down CGM any day now.. I also want to put down some new grass seed a small patch at a time before really hot weather, starting with the area that was dug up for my septic tank cleaning. Are there any guidelines to how soon you can top seed after applying corn gluten meal.

Depending on whom you wish to use as an authority anywhere from 3 to 6 weeks after applying the Corn Gluten Meal. Since Iowa State University and The University of Minnesota both agree on 5 to 6 weeks I would tend to go with their recommendations.
