Big Red Slicing Tomato

Gldno, are you still looking for a big red tomato? This used to be one of my favorites, but havent grown it in several years. Ponderosa- under the name Hendersons "Crimson Cushion" in Baker Creek catalog.

Anymore, I seem to grow more along the Oxheart line, but I may go back to it next year.

Thanks, I used to grow a Ponderosa Pink way back when. I may look for it.

How are you coming along with the raised beds? Been thinking of you on these last few pretty days we have had.

Description, according to catalog :Red Ponderosa, "Henderson's "Crimson Cushion" The Crimson Scarlet Brother of Ponderosa" huge size, and delicious rich flesh. said to be introduced in 1892 by Peter Henderson, the flesh is very thick and of great quality. This is probably the tomato that made red "beefsteak" type tomatoes famous.
Yes, I remember growing the Pink Ponderosa, after I had the red, I think I grew the red version about '68.
