Angraecum dollii

cjwatson(Z8 FL)September 5, 2009

Finally, after five years, I have a first bloom on this Malala plant. This is the orchid featured on the back cover of Joyce Stewart's book "Angraecoid Orchids."

A very slow grower which needs a winter rest. The flower has a natural spread of about 3"

This is a stunning flower - congratulations! 5 years of hard work have paid off. Love the shape and color

Carol, I think you just helped me ID my unknown/lost tag Angraecum which I also got from Malala in 2005! It's growing fine, but I have yet to bloom it. Now that it's ID'd I've read high light and winter rest? Mine hasn't gotten a winter rest in the past.... It will this winter!

That's what it is! I checked my order for Malala for 2005 and I have you down for an Ang dolli. If you are missing any other tags, let me know; I have your entire order listed.

Some records I keep. Gives me a chance to drool over plants no longer available to us.
