Where to buy fruit trees in Chester County PA?

billpa317March 22, 2013

I want to plant an assortment of fruit trees in my back yard as well as some blackberry bushes and strawberries in one of my raised beds. I would like to buy locally if possible. I live in the Coatesville area. Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance,

Agway in West Chester, on Matlack St. stocks fruit trees. I think they'll have the shrubs and strawberries, but I would call ahead to make sure. Otherwise you send away for them from Jung.

There are a bunch of places - Outside West Chester, I would go to the place where 162 and Strasburg Road meet - Distinctive Gardens - they have a really nice selection.

Also there is a place near Shady Maple that has a Ton of trees - Conestoga Nursery. I think Longwood gets their trees from here.

http://www.sas.upenn.edu/~dailey/byfg.html These folks would know, too!

Enjoy! But you might want to wait until fall to plant them, with the cicadas coming and all.... (sigh)
