I got my camera very close because he was occupied and his mouth was full. When he noticed he vibrated his tail. Never kill a king snake. This could have been a copperhead that he was eating.click to enlarge

Amazing that it can swallow something almost as big as itself. It won't need to eat again for at least a week or two. Great photos!

Fantastic picture! Here is where my zoom would have been a great help. I don't know if I would have had the nerve to get that close. Mother Nature at her best.
