Penn State Master Gardeners Spring Market

plants2cMay 16, 2008

Has anyone attended the Penn State Master Gardeners of Butler County Annual Spring Garden Market before? It is going on tomorrow and I was wondering if it is worth the drive. Their website says that they have vendors selling plants and shrubs - does anyone know what the prices are like? I am on a pretty tight budget for my landscaping needs and could use some creative ideas. Thanks!

I was there last year and frankly, I was disappointed. Maybe it was that I was expecting too much. There weren't that many vendors there and what they had was the same plants I could buy at Lowes or Home Depot for about the same price. Considering the price of gas, I don't think it would be worth the trip if you are coming very far. The grounds there are lovely and the atmosphere was nice with a few booths that were selling things more in the craft catagory. Creative ideas you might get there as there will be lots of garden educated brains there to pick
