What is this perennial?

curiousamjamJune 17, 2013

I've had these pop up the last two years and no one seems to know what they are. I'm thinking about taking them out but want to know what they are before I do. They get to about 24" tall and last through the summer. Thanks for any advice!

Hi! That's a Tradescantia virginiana, but I don't know which variety. The common name is Spiderwort.

I would keep them. they aren't too invasive, I have a clump under my Dawn Redwood tree.
