The weatherman of course told us we had a good chance of rain coming so I have been watching the radar all day. I thought I would get nothing because the clouds were going by and no rain. When I heard thunder I unplugged everything including the phone. I got .15 inch of rain. I held my breath the whole time because I could see blue sky and sun beyond the clouds. My dogs who got to come in for the heat were wanting to come in for the thunder. I let them in. What have I started. It isn't much but where it runs off buildings it helps. Also the pattern has changed and that is a good sign.

Helen, we got about .2" in south Springfield but at church our pastor said he had 1.2" by the time he left for church and it was still raining. He is in Fair Grove, which is about 15 miles east of us. Hope you got some more. Right now the radar show some of our Ozarks friends may still have some more coming. I sure hope so. Oh, your pups are spoiled...that's just fine!

We got just over 1/2 inch again! It came in early evening before dark and then again around 10:30 pm.

It actually smelled like normal damp ground when I went out to check the gauge this morning.

I got more later a total of .3 inch. The grass is beginning to grow.

I hope we still have grass. Right now it's only green where the lateral lines are.
Glenda I noticed the smell too and it seemed so strange for it to be cool this morning. We had the attic fan on for the first time in weeks.

That is so funny. Today was the first time I noticed our lateral lines; a lush green stripe across the field.

I may dig out some turnip seeds.
