Tri-color willow is a giant monster!

mickeddie(6)August 30, 2005

I bought two little Tri-colored Willows two years ago at Snipes Nursery outside of Philly (they have since closed the nursery). The information on the plant said it grows to about 3'. This year they had a growth spurt and are closer to 9'! We planted them out back under some windows and now the windows are all blocked. Part of me says to trim them down to where we thought they'd be (3') and part of me wants to see just how big they'll grow. If they are going to grow much bigger, is it too late to transfer them to a different place? How big will they get? I cannot find much info on the web on tri-color willows.

Thanks,

Michelle

If you can post a photo, I would love to see a tri color willow.....although I can't give you any advice.

I have this tri colored willow Hakuro Nishiki
Maybe this is what yours is.
BTW any pruned branches root VERY WELL, and easily. I have numerous bushes started.
