bush piles

I am very careful about fire but I think it would be very hard to burn your barn down in this weather. I am still working on ice storm limbs that I never did get cleaned up in the field.

I think you're right Helen. Good time to burn.

This winter will make it three years since the ice storm and I'm sure you're not the only one still cleaning up. With the leaves falling off the trees now, it's a sad reminder off all the damage we had. Some of the trees still look just awful. Maybe they will never get their shape back. We have a couple of hedge stumps that we never pulled out. I've been fighting the thorny sprouts that won't stop growing back.

christie, I don't know if you are 100% organic, but if not, I have good luck cutting sprouts or saplings and painting the cut stubs with plain diesel. I have killed elm, and hedge both. Just don't pour a lot that seeps into the ground.
