Passiflora I.D. Please

crazy4bugsJune 23, 2008

I bought this plant at Home Depot, but I'm not sure what the type of passiflora is because the tag didn't mention what kind it was.

Hello,

I think it definitely looks like some sort of cultivar of Passiflora x violacea, which is a hybrid between Passiflora caerulea (Blue Crown Passion Vine) and Passiflora racemosa. But there are a lot of these types, and I am not very familiar with them. But I think it looks like 'Victoria'. Whatever it is, it looks very nice.

I have absolutely no idea but I just love that flower. The color is beautiful. I wish the HD here carried something other then P. caerulea. Nobody around here carries passies. I have to get them mail order, through friends, trades or grow them from seed.

Hi there,

Am no expert, but happened to have a library book handy on passion flowers. Indeed, the picture here of P.x violacea 'Victoria'looks just like your flower.
