When should I start seeing eyes of new transplant?

kuriooo(5)March 27, 2010

Hi,

Transplanted 3 peonies last fall. Think they are at right depth.

All my established peonies have eyes starting, but I think just one transplant appears to have a single eye. Too early to worry, right? I'm in zone 5, southeast MI.

Thanks!

I'm in zone 7, and my Gen. Macmahon peonies (later bloomers) haven't shown any eyes yet. I imagine in zone 5 some peonies would be awhile yet showing eyes.
