passiflora careula (spelling)

sandy2_gwJune 29, 2008

Sorry not sure about the spelling but my question is why doesn't mine ever bloom? Live in zone 5 and it comes up along with passiflora incarnata. Incarnata always blooms and all the others that I have in pots that I take outside I have no problem with blooming. I have had the passiflora careula in the ground new for a few years and it comes up but never blooms. Why?

Hi Sandy
Some Passiflora when grown from seed never bloom. Passiflora caerulea blooms very readily generally so get rid of it and buy another from a reputable nursery.
