a gardening blog

I have created a gardening blog! There are pictures of 'Clear Sky' Passionflower and a real cool vine called Trichosanthes kirilowii.

Here is a link that might be useful: flower farm and gardens

The Pink Dawn is really nice. I have a large catalpa tree that I just love when it's not infested with catalpa worms. This year looks good so far. I've never had much luck with the desert willow. I've had a couple that were protected over the winter for a few years but they died before reaching blooming size.

The Trichosanthes kirilowii is very cool, so much that I just ordered seeds. Is it a hardy perennial? That's what I thought reading your blog but I wanted to confirm it.

Thanks for posting the great pics.

Thanks Karyn yes the Trichosanthes Kirilowii is perennial into zone 6 It is reluctant to climb at first so needs help but once it gets going on the support it is fine. It would be great to cover a large area such as a chain link fence. Now mine is in it's 2nd year and there are fruits so I can't wait to see if I'll get any seed. None were produced last season (it's first year) The flowers are fairly large about 3 inches or more across and fragrant too depending on the humidity and temps. I think it is fantastic.
