transplanting now?

lissatink(5/MA)April 2, 2013

We had snow today so it is still cold. I moved into my new place in December so I had no idea until they started to come up. I was told they just get mowed over every year as they didn't know what they were. So they haven't grown to maturity or been divided for at least 20 years. Can I divide them now? Should I just leave them hope for the best and divide in the fall?

If the buds haven't really grown much by now, it should still be safe to transplant them.
