I need help Identifying this fruit

islandhippie(10a)August 15, 2013

I found this fruit on my morning walk today. I believe it is in the Passiflora family by the leaves & fruit. It is a small red fruit with a very thin skin. Filled with tons of sweet jelly-like fruit surrounding seed.
I live on subtropical FL island where we have many wild passion fruit vines around and just wondering if this is another one I just found.

Any suggestions? Thanks!

That looks like Coccinia grandis, which goes by a number of common names such as tindora. It's in the cucumber family. I think a number of different parts are edible. It should be easy to root cuttings.
