Do peonies like bone meal? When is the best time to use it?

I believe its also good whenever you first plant them in the spring as well as in the fall?(I am no expert though:)...I read somewhere about mixing bonemeal into the bottom of the planting hole along with some organic material/well rotted manure to give them a good start at getting established...I am getting ready to plant a bunch of Peonies for the first time so am VERY interested in reading what those experienced have to say...Take care!...GardenLove
