How long from flowering to produce fruit?

valeriepa(z5-6 NEPA)August 20, 2013

Would like to harvest seeds from p. caerulea. I have cut off the spent blooms in the past. Is it too late for me to stop dead heading and get fruit with viable seed?

Hi Valerie,
If I want fruit, I never mess with the blooms. Leave them be,
a part of them becomes the fruit and cutting them off will destroy any chance of that. They will fall off on their own, and if they were pollinated, a little knob will form that will become the fruit. Hope this helps :)
