P. Alata Q

jungleboi(z7)November 16, 2005

I have a potted P. Alata that I started from seed in Febuary. It's very healthy and strong. I want to induce it to go dormant, as I don't have the light or windowspace to keep it growing all winter. What is the best way to go about this? Should I cut it way back?

Not all passion flowers have natural dormant period most likely, though some do to a degree, so cutting it back might be too big a shock or even trying to keep it in a dormant state ,if it's not normal for it to have one. I'm sure there are some varieties that originated in higher elevatiosn of the tropcics that may rest during their winter period , but I dont' know the specifics for "alata".
