6-16 Severe TStorm Watch/High WInd Warning Western OK

Okiedawn OK Zone 7June 16, 2011

The weather in parts of the state is going nuts today. We already had a Red Flag Fire Warning in the west and a Severe Thunderstorm Watch with some periodic warnings in the east.

Now, back to the west:

The NWS has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Watch for portions of western Oklahoma.

The NWS has issued a High Wind Warning for portions of western Oklahoma.

In some cases, in some parts of the state, you simultaneously have a Red Flag Fire Warning, a High Wind Warning, and a Severe Thunderstorm Watch. Got it?

If y'all get bored with all this exciting weather, come on down here to Love County where nothing is happening...just day after day of hot and dry, hot and dry, hot and dry.

Altbough the thunderstorms are winding down, a Wind Advisory remains in effect in parts of the state until 5 a.m. Three counties in the area of the diminishing thunderstorm have a High Wind Warning until midnight.
