should I thin these

bonniejean001June 2, 2013

I just moved here in January. My favorite flower is peony and it turns out there are at least 25 on this property.

On this row of them, there are also a ton of Lily of the Valley which are quite dense.

Should I remove the LoV?

I would remove the LofV. They will keep spreading. If you like them you can plant them somewhere else and they will bounce back. Then you can put mulch under your peonies, which they will appreciate.

It's a shame to move them, they look so pretty and lush with the peonies blooming! But peonies don't like being crowded and will be appreciative of the extra space.
