Peonies infected with fungus. Too early to cut them down?

MerileroleJune 29, 2013

Hi there! I went on vacation and when I returned I found the peonies completely covered in the powdery white fungus with black spots. Is it too early in the summer to cut it down to the ground? Any other suggestions? Much obliged for your input!

If they are completely covered you may as well cut them down. Fungus can only be prevented, not reversed. Remove all the infected plant material from the garden to the garbage. I would spray the ground with a good fungicide afterwards. Al

Thank you Al. I'll do that, as they are completely covered. I appreciate your input!
