I've heard about swales, but have a problem--put them on a hillside orchard and now my tractor gets stuck. My hubby's gonna kill me. Any ideas?

g'day debbb,

you don't say how the swales cause the tractor to get stuck? i would assume you are talking about the trench type swales?

maybe using straw bales or a ripper might suit your site better? or grow rows of tuffted type grasses like lemon grass done right they will hold debris and act as a swale.

don't know if i can help but glad to chat and see if i can.
