Has Anyone Seen Peony Fiber Optic?

lizbest1(5)July 23, 2013

Came across Fiber Optic Peony while doing some searches, it's pretty unique looking. I only found it on one site and it was sold out, the picture there wasn't very good but the bloom was unique enough to make me search further. Found a pic that was supposed to be Fiber Optic pulled from a newspaper article. Just curious about it, does anyone out there grow it or have you seen it live? What do you think about it?

Couldn't find the pic attached to the article that first grabbed my interest but Swenson's Gardens had advertised it before. It's midway down the page here; really different looking flower. Can't decide if I like it or not based just on the pics I've seen. Just wondered if anyone else had ever seen it in person and what their opinion was. I really like the "cactus bloom" type, this one seems a bit more extreme, though!

Here is a link that might be useful: Swenson's Gardens Page
