White stuff on indoor money plant...

Vinayak(OH)February 21, 2013

I just noticed some white stuff on the joints of my indoor money plant. Seems like some kind of fungus. I have no idea how to treat it either. So, if you could give me some tips, that would be great! I really don't want to throw out this plant.

does your clay pot have dissolved salt formations growing on it ...

and the problem occurs right at the pot lip???

and the furnace duct is right there ...

if it were my plant.. and its rootable.. and those nodes are actually roots.. i would chop it off and root it up in a new pot.. with new media ...

in 35 years.. i never perfected the use of clay pots ... i suggest you change your pot also.. while repotting it.. to get rid of accumulated slat buildup

Is that a heating vent or a cold air return?

I'd wipe the white off with rubbing alcohol and see what happens next.
