Has anybody tried baking soda to prevent powdery mildew on peony and hydrangea? Did it work for you?

1 tablespoon of baking soda
 teaspoon of liquid soap
1 gallon of water

Sorry, not me. That's at least 1 advantage of living in such an arid state, no plant mold or mildew issues.
