Storing Peony roots (unplanted)

biskitNovember 1, 2007

Looking for any info on storing bare peony tubors over the winter. I am moving and do not know when I can plant; probably next spring. Can they be stored unplanted?

Thanks for any and all info on the subject.

The roots need to be prevented from drying out during storage. I would store them the same as you would Dahlia. Keep them in a container of damp medium such as sawdust, sand or vermiculite in a cool dark location. Al
