What's eating my daylilies?

I've been out of town for a few days so I'm really not sure what's been eating my plants. My daylilies have been eaten and it looks like someone took a weed-wacker and mowed down the daylilies. Any ideas? Deer? Rabbit? I'm in zone 6 so I think they should come back, but I want to put down a repelent before the lilies start coming up.

I think deer are the only ones that eat them.

Deer will eat a patch of daylillys in one night. Use Liquid fnce..

I figured that it was probably a deer! I guess I have a battle ahead of me.....
